Experience a new way to stay connected while you're at home: SilverSneakers Connect, brought to you via Zoom¹. Now you can virtually "hang out" with SilverSneakers friends through fun and educational events. And because Connect is included in your SilverSneakers benefit, it's available at no additional cost to you.

  1. Log in to your SilverSneakers Member Account.
    1. If you don’t have an account, create an account to log in.
  2. Once you are logged in, you will see the SilverSneakers Connect image at the top of the page.

  3. Cilck VIEW THE SCHEDULE.
  4. Accept the terms and conditions.1 Please note, these events are brought to you by SilverSneakers via Zoom. You will be getting emails from Zoom to remind you of your upcoming events.

  6. When you click RSVP, the system will automatically register you for the event in Zoom.

  7. You will get a confirmation email from Zoom with a link to the event.
  8. You may join 15 minutes before the event starts. We recommend logging in early for your first session so you can download Zoom and get acquainted with the app.
  9. The JOIN NOW button is grayed out and inactive until 15 minutes before the event starts.
  10. You may join the event in two ways:
    1. Log into your member account and click on the JOIN NOW link when it is active (note an active JOIN NOW button will display as white with a blue border).

    2. You may also click the link in your confirmation or reminder emails from Zoom to go to your event.
  11. Once you click JOIN NOW, you will be presented with the Zoom Meeting notification. For the best experience, we recommend downloading the Zoom app by clicking the OPEN ZOOM MEETING button. Please note, Zoom may require you to create an account. This account will be separate from your SilverSneakers account but will allow you to register for and be reminded of SilverSneakers Connect events. Be sure to keep your passwords in a safe but accessible place for future log ins.

Are SilverSneakers Connect events available to everyone or members only?

SilverSneakers Connect is exclusive for SilverSneakers members.

 

What is Zoom?

Zoom is the video conference tool that we use to broadcast our live events.

 

Why am I getting emails from Zoom when I signed up for SilverSneakers?

When you submitted your RSVP for a SilverSneakers Connect event, the system automatically registered you for the event in Zoom. Through Zoom, we can bring high-quality, live video content right to you.

 

The video quality for my session is blurry, choppy or frozen. What should I do?

We recommend downloading the Zoom app for the best experience. If you’re viewing the event from your Internet browser, we recommend using Google Chrome. There can be a variety of issues that can affect video quality, including the speed of your internet or the speed of the event moderator’s internet. If you continue to have difficulties accessing your live event, please call 866-584-7389.

 

I logged into my SilverSneakers account and now I need to log into Zoom. Are my account credentials the same?

Zoom may require you to create an account. This account will be separate from your SilverSneakers account but will allow you to register for and be reminded of SilverSneakers Connect events.

 

I’d like to ask the event host a question. Can I communicate with him or her?

We encourage you to submit questions to the event host via the Q&A feature or submit a comment via chat in Zoom. We can’t guarantee a response to every individual question because the host will be leading the event.

 

How often are SilverSneakers Connect events held?

There will be multiple events each week. View the SCHEDULE for details.

 

Do these events cost any money?

No. SilverSneakers Connect events are available to SilverSneakers members at no additional cost.

 

I went to the Zoom website, but I can’t find my event. What do I do?

Log into your SilverSneakers member account, click on the image at the top for SilverSneakers Connect, then click on the JOIN NOW link when your session is live (note: an active JOIN NOW button will display as white with a blue border). You can also find the link from your Zoom confirmation or reminder emails.

 

How do I cancel my session?

There is a link to cancel your event reservation at the bottom of your confirmation and reminder emails. Clicking on the cancel link will bring you to a registration page. Click the cancel button again at the bottom of that page.

 

Is using Zoom safe?1

Do I need to log into SilverSneakers AND Zoom to join the event?

You will most likely need to create a separate login for Zoom due to recent changes in their privacy settings. This means you may be required to log in twice to get to your event. Be sure to log into your first event a few minutes early so you can get logged in and acquainted with Zoom.

 

How do I download the Zoom app to my smartphone, tablet or computer?

For smartphones and tablets, the Zoom app is available to download from the app store or from the Zoom website. You will also be prompted to download Zoom when you sign up for your first SilverSneakers Connect event. If you’re logging in from your computer, you can download Zoom when you register for your first event. From the scheduling page, when you click JOIN NOW, you’ll be presented with the Zoom Meeting request. For the best experience, we recommend downloading the Zoom app by clicking the OPEN ZOOM MEETING button. Please note, Zoom may require you to create an account. This account will be separate from your SilverSneakers account but will allow you to register for and be reminded of SilverSneakers Connect events. I’m signed into my member account and waiting for my event to start, but the JOIN NOW button is greyed out. What does that mean?

The means that event hasn’t started yet. You can log into event up to 15 minutes before they start. Consider using this time to jot down items you want to discuss or questions about the topic.

 

How are SilverSneakers Connect events different from SilverSneakers Facebook Live classes, SilverSneakers Live classes and SilverSneakers On-Demand™?

SilverSneakers Connect events are NOT classes or video workouts. They’re events where members connect socially via Zoom, while staying safe at home. You’ll get to see friendly faces, meet new people, and share conversation and laughter. You may develop new interests or hobbies, and inspire others to try new things. Topics may include game nights, book clubs, crafts and hobbies, pet clubs and current events.
